Hello! I am Pei Ting 佩婷.

I am a mental health worker, teacher and outdoor educator, based in Naarm (Melbourne).

My pronouns are she/her.

A woman with Chinese appearance with short black hair, wearing a headband, blue jacket and purple pants, carrying a red backpack with maps and equipment, climbing down a rocky outcrop, with a background of mountains and rolling clouds and blue sky.

About My Name

I grew up in Malaysia, and my cultural heritage is Chinese.

In Chinese, my name is 谭佩婷, where my family name – Tham, comes first, followed by two characters that is my name – Pei Ting.

I grew up having my name known in this order – Tham Pei Ting, as is my preference.

If you are reading this in Australia, or from a country with names in the Western tradition, then you will know my name as Pei Ting Tham.

Acknowledgement of Country

I would like to respectfully acknowledge and recognise the Wurundjeri and Bunurong Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land in Naarm, where I live, work and play on, as well as to the Aboriginal and First Nations people of the lands I travel to. I want to pay my respect to their Elders, past and present.
